Webinars

What is a Webinar?

A webinar is web-based seminar. By using a telephone and the internet, attendees can participate in a seminar without having to leave their desks. This web presentation combined with a phone-bridge (traditional tele-conference) allows attendees to listen and interact with the presenter.

During the webinar attendees are able to ask questions by submitting them on-line via chat, raise their hand via an icon or the phone lines can be unmuted. Also during the webinar attendees can be polled to gather immediate information and to assure that the message is being understood.

What is the difference between a live or an on-demand webinars?

A live webinar is scheduled at a specific date and time. Attendees interact "live" with the presenter. All webinars are limited to 22 participants.

An on-demand webinar is a pre-recorded webinar that you can view and listen to any time; however, you are unable to interact with the presenter or ask questions. In order to participate in an on-demand webinar you do not need a telephone.

To better help answer some of your questions about webinars view a 4 minute sample webinar.

All live webinars are recorded and available as on-demand webinars within 7 to 10 days following the live webinar.

Once you view it you own it...

After you participate in the webinar (live or on-demand) you will receive a copy that you can download to your computer, CD or DVD. This will allow you to repeat the webinar or allow others to view it at their convenience. Staff can receive training during their normal work hours at their workplace saving both time and travel cost.
